TFN Seafoods

The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation owns and operates TFN Seafoods. Fishing has been an integral piece of Tla-o-qui-aht culture and history for thousands for years, and TFN Seafoods continues to run with respect and awareness for traditional knowledge and fishing history, carefully guided by community advisors.
TFN Seafoods is a commercial fishing enterprise for the Nation that benefits fishers in the community and strengthens Tla-o-qui-aht culture, while encouraging sustainable practices that protect future generations. They have been committed to the support of Tla-o-qui-aht fishermen with employment and assistance with business ventures. Being a stand-alone commercial enterprise, TFN Seafoods needs to generate its own funding and operating capital and revenue.
Revenue from TFN fishing comes primarily from:
  •  Sea Cucumber
  • Halibut
  • Sablefish
  • Herring
  • Prawn
