Economic Development Corporation

Tin Wis Resort

The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation owns and operates Tin Wis Resort.
Tin Wis is derived from Tinuwis, meaning “calm waters,” expressing how the waves calm as they enter this protected cove which continues to be a haven for all who come.
The Nation, Tla-o-qui-aht Tribal Parks, and the Resort continue to work together to support economic development for the Nation and community through collaborative partnership and respect. Maintaining and improving this investment is key to retaining the jobs it provides for TFN members, which has job opportunities for up to 50 employees during the summer season.
Tin Wis Resort provides a multitude of opportunities for economic development and revenue through its:
  • 85 hotel rooms
  • Gift shop
  • Meeting, banquet, and conference facilities
  • Event and conference services
  • Brown's Socialhouse restaurant onsite (now open!)
The Resort also supports other local businesses in town through partnerships with:
  • Tofino Paddle Surf
  • Tofino Yoga
  • Tofino Air
  • Tofino Bike
  • Chocolate Tofino
  • Tuff City Saunas
